Let the public beware!

When selling your home please make sure you are dealing with an ethical agent who is registered with the Estate Agency Affairs Board (EAAB). We all have moral obligations when dealing with each other particularly when doing business dealings but the agent also has a legal obligation when contracting with you the seller – estate agents are governed by  the Estate Agency  Affairs Board Code of conduct.

Just log onto the EAAB site and verify the information given to you by the agent and or agency you are dealing with.

The agent should be registered with the EAAB which means they have a valid Fidelity Fund Certificate – the certificate is issued annually once all the relevant checks against the agency have been done, the Trust Account audited by a registered auditor and submitted to the EAAB. All required training courses have been attended and the agent/agency have either completed or are in the process of completing their NQF4 and or NQF5 qualifications.
